There, in Meadow Branch Primitive Baptist Church, the sightless youth first raised his singing voice, finding hope despite bleak circumstances in old-time-religion staples like "Softly and Tenderly" and "Amazing Grace." Ronnie Milsap sits atop Magnolia Hill, his brick-wall-enclosed estate near the Tennessee governor's mansion in Nashville, Tenn., and recalls his impoverished upbringing in Graham County, N.C.

Dolly – Pure Loveĭolly was a variety show hosted by none other than Dolly Parton, and was among the many to include a wide array of guests and skits that were set to entertain the audience and showcase the skills of the many people that came on. Given enough attention though it might be something worthwhile. A story about a family that’s being kept alive by performing bounty-hunting duties is something that might have some merit if it was done in a way that was fresh and innovative, but there are just too many ways for it to grow stale and there wasn’t enough interest or effort apparently to keep it going for more than 13 episodes. This show almost seems like it was a way for Jim Varney and a couple of other older actors to really keep on with their career and make something of themselves as it obviously went by the wayside after a while. The trouble with it is that Uncle Buck was supposed to be a one and done kind of deal, the idea of making it into a sitcom implies that the parents would never be around, which is kind of a depressing premise.

Uncle Buck was a great film thanks to John Candy and the rest of the cast that backed him up, but the TV show pretty much flopped despite the fact that it was being given a good name and a good premise to run off of.

Sometimes it seems that producers and directors think that they can capture the same type of magic that was great in the films on TV, but it doesn’t always pan out that way. Yeah, a happy ending for someone but still kind of dark throughout. Upon becoming pregnant she gives birth to a girl eventually and as the baby girl looks on her with love she dies, earning her place in heaven. That becomes a bit challenging when she’s subjected to the same treatment that she gave women when she was a man, especially when she passes out one night and the man she’s with rapes her despite his claims that she was a willing participant.

Switch is actually kind of a dark movie since not only does the man that dies in the beginning come back reincarnated as a woman, but he, now she, has to have a woman fall in love with her in order to earn her place in heaven. Fracking has in the past several years become something that many people are worried about, but the decision as to whether or not allow their lands to be subjected to this should still be the decision of the landowners. The problem with business methods such as this are that they’re not only highly suspect and possibly unethical, but they’re also denying the freedom of people to make up their own minds without being pulled or pushed in one direction or another. Promised Land is a movie that details the dangers of fracking and unfortunate but very real practices that some businesses have taken in trying to persuade people into doing what they want them to do.

Promised Land – Daydreams About Night Things Here are some of his songs that have been played in TV and movies. Since then he’s been one of those individuals that has been around for a while and is either a favorite of many or someone that needs to be discovered by those seeking a different sound to enjoy. When given a bit of hope he was able to finally flourish in his own musical career by the time the 70s rolled around. Adversity makes some people break down in depression, and for a while things in his life did seem to mean a lot less when he lost the rest of his vision, but Ronnie came back in a big way after a while, citing popular artists such as Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, and Jerry Lee Lewis for musical interest. At the risk of being rude or offensive it’s kind of interesting to think of what might have become of Ronnie Milsap if he hadn’t been born with a congenital effect that left him mostly blind, or if a slap from a teacher hadn’t robbed him of the last bit of vision he had left.
